We’re on the road!!!!!

Aaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!! We’re driving up I-5 heading towards the Oregon border as I write this and there aren’t words to describe how thankful I am to be on this trip. I cannot believe the places technology has taken us in such a short time. It amazes me that we’ll be able to share a live show with people anywhere in the world, or book shows from the road……I feel so fortunate to be out here following my dreams and seeing the world. We’ve worked really hard to pull this together over the past six weeks and the work that went into this makes it so much more meaningful. But, we truly couldn’t have done this without the support form our friends and family. HAPPY BIRTHDAY POPS! We spend the early hours celebrating his birthday by putting the bike rack on the Santara, and then we went out for one last family breakfast before heading out. We were up until 4:00 last night packing the RV, but I finally caved in and picked up a few hours of sleep. Ammie’s been driving for the past few hours so I could try to catch up on sleep and make sure to blog as we cross the Oregon border……….
I’m really looking forward to catching up on sleep tonight, but much more excited about the first show tomorrow (9/29) in Glendale, Oregon at the Morning Star Coffehouse and tomorrow morning’s interview on KAJO 1270 AM in Grants Pass, Oregon at 10:30 a.m. It’s going to be nice find our destination tonight, probably a rest stop, but I’m looking forward to wrapping up some of the loose ends that we threw in here as we rushed to get on the road. We went straight to the gas station to fill up and started the trip with 20,174 miles on our 1998 Coachman Santara V-10 (non-diesel). Yeah, we’ll keep you posted on our gas mileage as it will top our list of expenses. This whole RV thing is so foreign to me and feels like I’m a tourist in my own state, driving around with a camera slung around my neck snapping up pics of everything! We just crossed the border!! California is behind us and the open is stretched out ahead of us, waiting to take us to Knowhere.
There are so many things about RV life we have yet to discover. Right now, Ammie is driving along, swatting the air for flies and we’re both trying to find out why the smell of the bathroom has quadrupled since we opened the window. We’re actually really looking forward to emptying this out for the first time, so long as we don’t end up like Robin Wiliams inRV.
I’m really looking forward to spending a lot more time on the website and sharing all of the experiences that will contribute to this site. Ammie and I both want to thank Heather for the Bon Voyage party on Friday night and all of our friends for being there to see us off (we’ll add those pics soon). And if you didn’t have a chance to hear the first interview on NPR from Friday afternoon, just click here and download the September 26th Insight show! We’ll miss you all and hope you’ll keep in touch and keep checking back for new songs, recordings and more shows. We’ll have the calendar posted soon. We are both so happy to be together, alive and well!

Hi Adam/Ammie
Hope all is going well and the weather is good to you, and that you got some sleep. This s my first comment, the pix are good and scenery on Oregon looks pretty. I hope you receive this.

I would much rather smell what was coming from your motor home than what I smell in India. =)
